Areas of Expertise

Family Systems Therapy

Think of the family system as one emotional unit. Each family member is deeply intertwined with one another. As you grow up and develop a sense of self one may find that this challenges your family's interdependence and as a result, causes tension within the family unit. In Family Systems Therapy we will explore your family history spanning across generations, discuss societal and cultural influences on your belief systems, and how familial expectations are playing a role in your life in the present.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

If you've read anything about therapy, you've seen CBT. Love it or hate it, CBT is an evidence-based practice that is implemented to challenge your cognitive distortions/unhelpful ways of thinking while implementing healthy coping skills and mindfulness techniques to utilize to relieve symptoms.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Before building any relationship, the most important component is trust. What messages did you receive as a child? Which relationships provided safety, security, and trust? The goal of attachment-based therapy is to examine negative early attachment issues when establishing secure bonds between child and caregiver. Here we will discover your attachment style from childhood, and analyze how this has affected your adult relationships. The goal is to understand how your early development has shaped you as an adult and altered your feelings and behaviors.

A few facts about me:

  1. I am a major animal lover. I have an Australian shepherd named Milo and an orange cat named Finn. If you have pets too, I'd love to meet them in our sessions!

  2. I love traveling. Particularly if I'm lucky, abroad, but if I'm staying in California, you can find me in Big Sur or Lake Tahoe.

  3. I am the kind of person that can quote shows, songs, and movies throughout daily conversations and apply them to what you're currently going through, so please share your favorites with me.

I want to destigmatize the therapeutic process and provide a warm space for you to engage, process, and grow. I am deeply committed to my work with my clients, and I cannot wait to join with you on your journey towards healing.
